Location

Milia is a mountainous village in the east of the prefecture of Ioannina. Specifically, it is located at the junction of the borders of three prefectures: Ioannina, Trikala and Grevena. It is 20 minutes from Metsovo (to which it belongs administratively), 65 minutes from Ioannina, 50 minutes from Grevena and 80 minutes from Meteora. It is built at an altitude of 1,200 meters in the midst of ancient forests on the slopes of northern Pindos and is one of the most mountainous villages in Epirus. The permanent residents of the village are approximately 250. North of Milia is the Pindos National Park (Valia Kalda). The village operates a KEP (Citizens Service Center). There is also a grocery store (with basic items), a tavern, four cafes and two grills which operate on Friday and Saturday nights.
